Jade and El-Sea

Jade's summer snooze is interrupted by an icicle dripping on his nose and a knock at the door. Trouble is, the door should be buried under a glacier. Jade is alarmed. Is it trolls come to seek revenge? Or has he been tracked to the ends of the earth by human hunters?
In fact, it's a penguin, come to request—no, more like insist—well, actually, demand he help save the world. The Southern Icecap is melting, whales are beaching themselves and mutant wolves are indiscriminately attacking seals and penguins.
And it's rumoured only Jade knows how to reverse the catastrophe. Nothing in his sheltered upbringing has prepared him for this meeting. El-Sea is a feisty penguin princess prepared to do anything to enlist his help. Well, maybe not anything. Curbing her temper and tongue is asking a bit much.
As for Jade, there are moments when he's not sure who the good guys are. How do you choose sides when evil sounds so reasonable and good-mannered?
Jade and El-Sea is an environmental fantasy. Penguins, seals, dolphins, whales and a trio of lost polar bears are allied in the fight against savage mutant drolves and the sinister minds controlling them. In the middle, there's Jade.
Witty, fast-paced, full of humour and surprise, it is a story of hope.
"Ok ok, I admit I'm biased when it comes to anything with a penguin in it, but I still think it's cool in every way!"
Anne Hamilton, author of the best-seller, Many-Coloured Realm, which also features a penguin.
